Wes, I went back through all my albums and found so many pictures! This first picture was one of my favorites because it is so random and brings back such good memories. I think you're the one who came up with this brilliant idea that you are expertly carrying out in the photo...
I had decided to make random designs out of broken pieces of a mirror, and here you are, in action, punching your fist through a square foot of glass wrapped up in newspaper. Your creation became the centerpiece of our design. To this day those mirrors have remained on my wall (now mounted on plexiglass instead of glued to the wall!) wherever I go. They came with me to Boston, to Columbus, and now they are back home. Every time I see them I think of you and I remember how much fun it was to have you all over and help me on my project. Wes, you are an amazing friend and I am so blessed to have you in my life! More pictures will be coming... I'm better at posting pictures than writing :-)Amy Goodwin
Yeah! I have fond memories of wiping Wes' blood off that center mirror. As he was picking pieces of glass out of his knuckles, I remember questioning whether him punching a mirror for the sake of art was really worth it. Then I see pictures of the final product. So worth it.
ReplyDeletedid wes really get hurt or are you just messing with me ryan?? my selective memory only remembers the good stuff!
ReplyDeleteYep. He definitely cut up his hand. I remember our warped logic.... thinking that because there was a pillow under it, and a sheet of newspaper wrapped around it, that they would somehow negate the fact that he was shattering a mirror with his fist.
